About Jean

Hailing from Quebec City, Jean's been enjoying the life of a New Yorker for a few decades and has carved himself a place in the performing arts and entertainment world. If it's about applying talent, you can be pretty certain, Jean will be up to the task and accomplish it at its highest level.

Most recently, Jean was part of the acclaimed Hulu series RAMY , the EMMY Award winning series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" with Rufus Sewell and Showtime's "Escape at Dannemora," with Patricia Arquette, directed by Ben Stiller. He can also be seen in HBO's Emmy-nominated movie "The Wizard of Lies," opposite Michelle Pfeiffer; the last few seasons have featured Jean on NBC's "The Blacklist" and the unforgettable "30 Rock," CBS's "Elementary" and "Person of Interest" as well as Netflix's hit show "House of Cards" to name a few. Cult films include the celebrated "The Fault in Our Stars," with Shailene Woodly and Ansel Elgort and the delightful romantic-gone-wild comedy "The Pill" starring Noah Bean and Rachel Boston.

From very early on, Jean's been working for the stage as actor, writer, director and producer. Last Spring saw the great Quebec play's American premiere of David Paquet's "Porcupine" which he co-produced and acted in. Before that he was honored to be part of Pan Asian Repertory Company's "Film Chinois," by Damon Chua. The New York Times said of his performance that it had "a convincing world-weary authority."

Acting in front of the camera and on stage is only part of Jean's successful career. Performing behind the microphone for hundreds of voice over projects, numerous audiobooks, cartoon characters, audio tours of museums, cities, boat rides, has been a solid way of being a proud member of SAGAFTRA for decades.

But that's not all. Jean's career as singer-songwriter is constantly expanding. A 2012 Bistro and AGGIE awards recipient and MAC nominee for his tribute "The Kid From Paris - Jean Brassard Sings Yves Montand," co-written with and directed by David Krueger, Jean has published two albums, the second one, DIX features ten of his own compositions.

In the Spring of 2019, Jean created the cabaret-theater piece "Voyage en Chanson," to inaugurate Brooklyn's National Sawdust new cabaret series. In October of the same year, he embarked on a new journey to salute Charles Aznavour's treasures in "I Have Live," performed at The Pheasantry in London and Pangea in NYC.

Alright, that's enough, you say? Well, not quite. What might be his unlikely and yet very real claim to fame? Yes, you've guessed it (how did you know?) it is years as commentator with the great Raymond Rougeau, for the WWE International French market. After many years of hiatus, they are back in the saddle, stronger than ever!
